If you are in an emergency, no-heat situation outside of our regular business hours, please contact the Bloomfield Police Department at 860-242-5501. Using ovens and unsafe space heaters for heat is never recommended. PLEASE consider staying with neighbors, family, or friends, if possible, until you have heat.
For all other non-emergency heating needs, please contact Bloomfield Social and Youth Services during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm at 860-242-1895.
If you or someone you know is in urgent need of shelter, please dial 211 for a list of homeless shelters, seasonal no-freeze shelters, and emergency support and connection to shelters. 211 is available 24 / 7.
The Town will provide water, but residents are asked to bring their own food. Please remember to also bring medications, emergency contact phone numbers, and any other items you may need during the day. Service dogs are always welcome, but please call for information regarding other pets.
