"Greatness Shines Through" Black History Month Short-Video Contest

Enter the Bloomfield Humanities Committee's Black History Month short-video contest and be recognized at the 2/28/24 "A Night of the Arts" event!

The Bloomfield Humanities Committee would like to invite you to participate in a series of events for Black History Month, centered around the theme, “Greatness Shines Through.” 

  • Feb. 1 – Feb. 13: Townwide short-video contest. Full contest rules available here.  Open to all Bloomfield residents.  Entries must be received by 2/13/24.
  • Feb. 14: “I’m Black and I’m Proud”: Meet members of the Bloomfield Public Art Commission (and judges for the essay and short-video contests) and peruse items for sale by Black artisans.  Alvin and Beatrice Wood Human Service Center (300 Park Ave., Bloomfield), 6PM – 8PM
  • Feb. 28: “A Night of the Arts”: Meet Mr. Kemet, and his creator, Bloomfield-born, Joe Young, Jr., and celebrate winners of the essay and short-video contests. Alvin and Beatrice Wood Human Service Center (300 Park Ave., Bloomfield), 6PM – 8PM
