For a typical 6-12 inch snowstorm:

🛣️

🅿️
Parking Areas: Cleared within 6 hours after snow stops
🚶
Sidewalks & Bus Shelters: Cleared within 6 hours after snow stops
🚒

🚨Response Levels

1
Light Treatment

Crews apply salt and/or liquid deicer to roads and parking areas. May occur before snow falls to prevent ice bonding.

2
Active Plowing

Full plowing operations begin. Main roads are cleared first, then side streets. Chemicals applied as needed.

3
Severe Storm

Blizzards or heavy ice storms. Priority is keeping main roads open for emergency vehicles. Secondary roads addressed as possible.

💡Important Information for Residents

  • We don't aim for bare pavement during storms—this would be too costly. We focus on safe travel conditions.
  • Plowing starts at the centerline and works toward the curb. Some snow may be pushed near driveways.
  • Watch for parking bans during storms. Cars blocking streets will be removed to allow plowing.
  • Emergency vehicles get priority. If you need emergency assistance during a storm, help will reach you.
  • School delays or cancellations are decided by the Board of Education based on our road status updates.
