1. What payment options are available?

• Pay In person using checks, cash or money orders 

  Debit/Credit cards are not accepted in the office
  Note: Delinquent Motor Vehicle taxes paid with a check will not receive DMV Clearance until after 10 days

2. Who do I make my check payable to?

All checks and money orders should be made payable to: Town of Bloomfield Tax Collector

3. When are taxes due?

Motor Vehicle, Personal Property, and first installment Real Estate tax bills are due July 1, 2023. 

The last day to pay without interest or penalty is Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
*Real Estate tax bills under $1000 are only due in one installment*

Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills and second installment Real Estate tax bills are due January 1, 2024. The last day to pay without interest or penalty is Thursday, February 1, 2024. 

4. Do you have a drop box for payments?

Yes, there is a drop box around the circle at the Park Avenue entrance of Town Hall.  

These boxes are checked several times during the day. No cash should be placed in the drop box.

Town of Bloomfield: 36.78

Center Fire District: 1.75

Blue Hills Fire District: 3.10

Motor Vehicle:

Town + Center Fire District: 31.71

Town + Blue Hills Fire District: 32.46

6. If I mail in my payment, can I get a receipt?

Yes, if you send in your entire billing statement and a self-addressed stamped envelope, we will stamp your portion of the bill and return it to you.
