Pets in Hot Cars

Bloomfield Animal Control will respond to a report of a pet in a hot car and will use a thermal reader to determine the interior temperature of the vehicle. Based on the training and experience of the Bloomfield ACO, if the interior of the vehicle is unhealthy and unsafe for the pet inside, entry into the vehicle will be made and the pet will be removed and transported to a veterinarian. The offender may be charged with violation of CGS 53-247, Cruelty to Animals, and either taken into custody or arrested by warrant.
