"Into The Woods" by Benjamin Skaught-2021 Landscape Award WinnerTrees for Bloomfield Initiative

The Bloomfield Beautification Committee and the Conservation, Energy and Environment committees working together along with interested residents have established the Trees for Bloomfield Initiative. This initiative is a way to provide residents a tree canopy for generations to come.  And, in as much as a mature tree stores four tons of carbon for forty years, planting trees will help to reduce carbon dioxide going into the planet’s atmosphere and mitigate climate change. In addition, all these trees will enhance our neighborhoods as well as provide shade, fall color, wildlife habitat, enrich the environment, and provide oxygen. In 2021 TFB planted 36 trees, presented: two educational lectures, 1 pruning workshop, 4 guided tree hikes, a Tree Photo Contest and a gallery reception to recognize the 13 winners of the Photo Contest.  See highlights from the 2022 Photo Contest Winners Reception.
